Microchips
Should I microchip my dog?
Better to have your dog home, happy and healthy.

Rather than to never find your dog again.

Microchips can be a life saver:
If your dog or cat gets loose a microchip can be the difference
between it being returned home
safely and being put to sleep at the city pound.
Who do I use:
AVID and HomeAgain are the most known companies I know
of. Both were recommended to me by vets.
How much are they?:
You will have to contact your vet to have one placed in your pet.
The cost varies depending on your vet. You will usually have to
pay your normal vet visit fee plus $20-$40 for the chip. Some
companies charge a service fee for registering the chip. Home
Again gives you a free membership to their website. I do not
recommend one over the other (I use Avid because she came
to me that way). Some low cost clinic offer this for less money.
