Rhodesian Ridgebacks:
If you ask me, I will tell you, Ridgebacks are the best dogs you
can ever get.  Just read the History page to find out why.  On
this site you will find a huge amount of information that will
help you in your quest to find the perfect dog for you and how
to properly care for the dog you already have.

What we have done for you:
I spent two years looking for my first Ridgeback.  In my quest
to find the right breeder and to understand the health issues
I would face while owning a Ridgeback I accumulated a
wealth of knowledge.  I have decided that there is no reason
for me to keep all this information to myself.  So what I have
done here is list everything that I have learned while  on my
journey in finding the newest members of our family.  Filtering
through these pages can give you a very good idea of what to
look for in a breeder, what to expect when you bring your dog
home for the first time and during it's life.  This doesn't mean
that you don't have to do any work...you have to read all our
pages...lol.  Be assured that you will know what you want to
know by the time you sift through all this information.

Things you will find in this site include, but are not limited to:
Whether a Ridgeback is right for your home;
What it's like to own a Ridgeback;
How to get the right dog from the right person;
What diseases are common for this breed;
Where to buy, and not to buy, your dog from;
And.....much, much more.

Buyers Beware:

*Do not accept verbal contracts when dealing with
breeders.  Not all breeders are honest and will tell
you anything you need to know in order to sell
their puppy.

*Do not mistake a nice home for a good reputation.

*RRCUS:  Don't worry about buying a dog
registered with RRCUS.  It doesn't protect you.
They don't handle complaints unless other RR
Breeders are complaining and their breeders can
say what they want on an application, they don't
have to actually do what RRCUS requires of them.
